Katie Tims joined Competitive Energy Services in 2026 as an Energy Analyst. With a background in sustainability, she previously led the implementation of the City of Portland’s Energy Benchmarking Ordinance. In this role, she analyzed building energy-use metrics, ensured data accuracy and regulatory compliance for more than 600 buildings, and translated technical energy data into clear public-facing communications and reports. She also served as the City’s primary point of contact for utility management across municipal assets, overseeing supply contract transitions, invoice review, net energy billing allocations, and solar agreements. Through this work, Katie developed a practical understanding of how strategic energy procurement, municipal solar projects, and policy decisions influence energy planning, operational outcomes, and long-term facility management strategies. She brings this experience to support clients in energy-use analysis, budget and variance tracking, and building energy & emissions reporting. Katie holds a B.S. in Biology, with minors in Pre-Medical Studies and Sustainable Food Systems, from University of Maine.
