Synopsis of Last Week's Energy Markets

Crude oil futures fell last week after the EIA reported that American crude production rose to its highest level since December 1990 and weak economic data from China raised concern about the country’s future energy demand. Natural gas futures fell four out of five days last week and the 12-month strip shed over four percent after weather forecasts showed normal to below-normal temperatures for most of the U.S. through the first week of August.
