CES Market Summary released for April 10, 2012

by Michelle Tham, Director of Analytics

Last week was a four-day trading week; markets were closed in observance of Good Friday.  Crude oil prices managed to eke out a small gain after falling for the previous three weeks. Oil moved mainly in response to economic data signaling growth in domestic manufacturing and a drop in the number of Americans taking unemployment benefits. Natural gas inched downward for the third straight week. Once again, market movement was dominated by the EIA storage report, which showed another increase in the current surplus against historical levels.
